A Chinese lantern festival in Brussels
What? Chinese Lantern Expo: Light the Heart of Europe
Who? Mission of China to the EU
When? February 2018
We celebrated the 2018 Chinese New Year like never before! Atlas Hiseas unveiled the splendour of Chinese culture against the astonishing background of Brussels’ eclectic architecture to symbolise the strong bond between China and the EU.
How did we make this elegant collision of cultures come true?
We wanted the visitors to discover Chinese culture while also exploring Brussels’ highlights in a unique way. Our team was the project coordinator for the whole event and managed everything from conceptualisation and design to logistics, transport, installation, translation and interpretation, permit approval, online and offline advertising etc. We also served as a contact partner for our client, building a smooth line of communication with all parties involved.
The results spoke for itself: the dozen light installations represented Chinese and Belgian landmarks in a truly enchanting way. From the Temple of Heaven on the Grand Place of Brussels to the red lanterns in the Royal Gallery of Saint-Hubert, there was no escaping the beauty of China in Brussels. The event was enjoyed by many visitors, including high officials such as former Belgian PM Elio Di Rupo and Ambassador of China to the EU, ZHANG Ming. Our team also handled the press relations before, during and after the event. Light the Heart of Europe definitely went beyond the imagination of our client, partners and visitors.
Outcome
- Official receptions and inauguration ceremonies were attended by many high officials
