Connecting China and Europe through environmental protection
What? Shooting the reality TV programme “The Protectors”
Who? Mango TV
When? October 2019
Atlas Hiseas broadened its horizon to Iceland and brought the famous and pioneer Chinese platform & producer “Mango TV” to this unique country to connect two very different cultures in the frame of a greater goal that knows no border: environmental protection!
With the purpose of raising awareness about the carbon footprint issue among the large Chinese audience, the reality-TV programme “The Protectors” is the first one of its kind in China and was designed and shot by Mango TV in collaboration with Atlas Hiseas in Iceland.
For a complete month, Atlas Hiseas connected on a daily-basis local authorities, institutions and providers with the Chinese production team, assuring the authenticity and success of the shooting for Mango TV while offering a unique opportunity to Icelandic partners to massively broadcast a tailored and dynamic message promoting eco-tourism to Chinese viewers.
While boosting the visibility of Iceland in China, four famous Chinese celebrities experienced a unique eco-friendly travel, along which local talents were also the chance to spotlight their singularity by directly interacting with the celebrities on their premises. The four stars were even granted the title of “Icelandic Environmental Travel Ambassadors” by Promote Iceland, the national promotion agency.
As our team stayed a complete month in Iceland to prepare the shooting, we created a strong network with local authorities and made of this Icelandic adventure a success story, which more than 120 million people already watched in just two days!
